Trecca
Typische gerechten die we hebben beoordeeld
Het verhaal van ons bezoek
We rushed because there was theater later, so straight to the first courses. Two classic dishes: carbonara and amatriciana. Well, you know.
I really wanted to try it because everyone says it's one of the most roman places in Rome. You book from the website, but we arrived early at 8pm and they seated us two without any problems.
Let's start with the carbonara that honestly I expected more from. Too salty. The guanciale was really lean, so when you bite into it it's basically pure salt. And not everything was good, some pieces almost tasted rancid. The crispiness? Who knows, random. Some pieces yes, others no. The egg cream was too dense, almost pasty. In short, far from the carbonara you'd expect from a place like this.
The amatriciana was better, but even here. The tomato is there, good. It's just that I saw little guanciale, little pecorino too, and the portion wasn't generous for the price.
The service roman style, that yes. But a bit too lackadaisical for my taste. The casual style is fine, but here they were just not attentive.
A shame to have been in a rush because the menu had interesting stuff. Maybe the other dishes are better and would have saved the evening. For now though, based on these two first courses which are what counts, I'm disappointed. 17 euros each just for a first course, and not even exciting.
