External Sources
External rankings and gastronomic guides that contribute to the selection of restaurants we review and to the evaluation of the dishes themselves.
Why do we use external sources?
At the heart of Foodoso's philosophy lies the effort to harmoniously blend subjectivity and objectivity. To this end, we use various signals from external rankings and guides as a corrective and moderating factor in our evaluations. Sources are selected based on brand importance, visibility, seriousness and credibility. We discard any resources that to an expert eye clearly appear as advertorials, lists copied from other sources or, worse still, lists generated by artificial intelligence. These sources help us select which restaurants to visit and contribute, in a controlled measure, to the final score of each dish we review. We make this internal data public to help our users better understand the philosophy behind Foodoso and our desire for maximum transparency and objectivity in carrying out our mission.
