The story of our visit
On the Tuscolana, near Numidio Quadrato. It's not the kind of place where you walk in expecting to find something memorable. Quei Due Al Tuscolano is a pizza al taglio like any other — standard sign, standard counter, nothing that makes you raise an eyebrow.
But the supplì. Now that's a different story.
Generous portion, breadcrumb crust crispy as it should be but yielding right away under your teeth, mozzarella stretching nicely. You can really taste the basil. Except — and we're saying this because we care — the rice was a touch overcooked, and the sauce was doled out a bit too sparingly. The result is a solid, reliable supplì, but without that moment when you think "ah, now that's it." There was potential for something more, let's say.
The pizza was good. Well-risen, crispy. It falls into that lineage of Roman pizza al taglio done with proper care — nothing to complain about, but nothing particularly memorable either.
Three euros a head. Three euros. That alone would be worth the metro stop.
Will we go back? For the supplì, yes.
