La casa del supplì

The story of our visit
Historic establishment - gastronomy - Roman pizza al taglio famous for its supplì, featured in 9 out of 11 rankings for Rome's best supplì. The supplì is certainly very good, generously filled with sauce and flavor, with a nice block of mozzarella stuffed in the center, but unfortunately, to claim the title of Rome's best, it needs to evolve. The breading, in fact, has never been crispy—probably one of the least crispy versions we've tried—and this is no longer a negligible aspect when competing at the highest level. The pizza situation is equally outdated. Neither fluffy nor crispy, as if the world had stopped ten years ago. Just another pizza like the thousand others you'll find across Rome. Overall, it remains a good spot, always packed with customers, quick and courteous service, and an excellent supplì, but it needs to modernize if it wants to reclaim the city's top spot that rightfully belonged to it a few years back.
