The story of our visit
Quick visit to try their supplì, which is featured in 4 out of 11 rankings for Rome's best supplì that we evaluated. The place is historic and sits at Ponte Milvio right in the heart of Rome's trendy nightlife district, something that certainly contributes to its success. It's a small spot with limited seating and serves only fried food, prepared in various ways. We only tried the classic supplì, which, while good, perhaps isn't quite as exceptional compared to Rome's average quality. Partly due to its small size, partly because the filling, though flavorful, struck us as a bit dry. The crispiness was good, the price reasonable for the area. Our mozzarella wasn't stretchy, and even though it had clearly been fried some time before, the condition we found it in suggests it never reached complete melting. We'll verify this hypothesis with another tasting.
